WHY SHOULD I STUDY APPLIED CRAFT BREWING AT REGIS?
Regis University's certificate in Applied Craft Brewing is for anyone looking to start a career in the craft brewing industry or simply considers themselves a beer enthusiast. Our part-time program is designed for working adults. Through hands-on experiences and mentorship from local brewers, students learn the fundamentals of brewing and develop the skills to improve their own craft.
Colorado is home to some of the best craft breweries in the nation, making it the perfect setting for students looking to increase their knowledge and experience in the field. Colorado’s brewery industry is booming:
- Home to 334 breweries, employing more than 7,000 individuals
- 3-billion-dollar industry in 2016
- Brewery employment five times greater than the national average
Regis’ applied craft brewing program culminates in an internship at a local brewery, letting students test out new skills, get a foot in the door and make valuable industry connections. Additionally, graduates have the opportunity to become certified beer judges through the national Beer Judge Certification Program (BJCP).
WHAT WILL I LEARN DURING THIS CERTIFICATE PROGRAM?
一道本不卡免费高清Through Regis’ applied craft brewing program, students learn about basic biological principles, American Society of Brewing Chemists (ASBC) lab methods, sensory training and business fundamentals. Courses integrate scientific basics, lectures from industry experts and hands-on skills labs.
IS REGIS' APPLIED CRAFT BREWING CERTIFICATE PROGRAM ACCREDITED?
Regis University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC), one of six regional higher education institutional accreditors in the United States.
Regis’ applied craft brewing program is currently working on recognition by the Master Brewers Association of America.
WHAT CLASS FORMATS ARE AVAILABLE?
To accommodate your busy schedule, classes are held on Saturday mornings at our Northwest Denver campus location. Classes are eight-weeks long.
WHEN DO CRAFT BREWING CLASSES START AT REGIS UNIVERSITY?
Start dates are offered twice per year and there is capped enrollment, so don’t wait to apply!
Mid-January: Attend classes January – July with a fall internship. Priority application deadline is November 1. Final deadline (space permitting) is December 15.
